KNITTED SILK COTTON TEES
Description
There’s a simple and a not-so-simple description that goes here. The simple description is “silk-cotton t-shirt”. The slightly longer yet immeasurably more accurate description is “fully fashioned, hand-linked, knitted, silk-cotton t-shirt”.
In traditional cut and sew t-shirts, panels are then sewn together on a sewing machine but ours are hand-linked instead, meaning the panels are joined loop by loop on a linking machine and the last stitch is hand sewn to finish. This produces a beautiful seam that sits completely flat against the skin and doesn’t rub because of polyester stitching on the inside.
It’s a slow, skilled process requiring expert hands, a somewhat dying art. We also designed a tubular sleeve cuff and collar making them look almost seamless.
Finally, our t-shirts are knitted from silk-cotton yarn. Silk adds drape, a beautiful handfeel, as well as a subtle lustre. Whilst most t-shirts are still knitted, that’s about all our t-shirts have in common with your average cotton tee.
The result is a piece that's contemporary and elevated without feeling over-designed. Despite it being entirely over-designed.
